Totally excited for finders keepers.

February 10th, 2011

Ok the bloggers block is definately gone. I was just having a browse around the interwebs and got totally excited becasue the finders keepers market is coming back to Melbourne and soon! So get your diarys out and ready and mark of a day to have a look.  the 26th and 27th of March at Shed 4 Victoria Harbour.

This will be the 2nd market that they have held in Melbourne, and let me tell you, it was FANTASTIC last time. Best market I have been to in a very very long time.

One day I might even have a stall of my own there.

The events of last night….

February 3rd, 2011

I took a stroll around the Suzuki Night Market at the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne.

They are on every Wednesday in summer from 5 pm till 10:30pm. Lots of good food, music and best of all market stalls! So you can sit back relax and listen to tunes and eat your heart out, or have a browse around the market stalls. It gets pretty crowded so I recommend getting there as early as possible, but definitely  worth a look.

Once upon a time. I went out shopping

January 20th, 2011

While I was out shopping I found a cool little thing called Doily News. They are doilys made from unsold newspapers. How cool are they! Use them as coasters, decorations, even to decorate your wrapping paper, your imagination is your only limitation.

But I do like coffee tables. Currently I’m looking for my lounge room, however I don’t know where to start. I am furnishing with danish style furniture, but even though I love them I don’t think that I want to go with the typical danish coffee table such as this one…

Vamp Vintage Design

I think I want something a bit more colourful, or brighter. On a quick Internet search I found this one.

Herman Miller, Charles Eames

Yes I think I like this one much more, it would definitely brighten up the room, but I’m still not 100% sold. Honestly I think picking this is going to take me a while.

Do you have a coffee table that you like?

Wool in Bendigo! Who would have guessed!?

January 6th, 2011

Hey peeps, another thing researched while I was in Bendigo the other week, was the hype I’ve been hearing about the Bendigo Woolen Mills. I’m ashamed to say I grew up in Bendigo and have only just found out about this wonderful resource that I had on my doorstep for all these years.

Did you know that they are the largest hand knitting mail order manufacturer in Australia? And it’s only of very recent times that they have moved to internet sales, previously us nanna’s would fill our orders via phone or fax. Anything that is based on mail order and  has survived this long without the internet must be good!  You are buying direct from the manufacturer so you get factory direct prices, they have the largest range of natural fiber yarns anywhere in the world.

Wool, Knitting, Crochet

So i say for your next knitting project have a look online for your wool, or if not they have a factory shop in Bendigo at 4 Lansell St. You never know my dad’s a sheep farmer and you may just get some of his wool, the chances are high :)

Oh and they sell some pretty awesome patterns as well. Like this lovely jumper ;)
