February 10th, 2011

Ok the bloggers block is definately gone. I was just having a browse around the interwebs and got totally excited becasue the finders keepers market is coming back to Melbourne and soon! So get your diarys out and ready and mark of a day to have a look.  the 26th and 27th of March at Shed 4 Victoria Harbour.

This will be the 2nd market that they have held in Melbourne, and let me tell you, it was FANTASTIC last time. Best market I have been to in a very very long time.

One day I might even have a stall of my own there.

The events of last night….

February 3rd, 2011

I took a stroll around the Suzuki Night Market at the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne.

They are on every Wednesday in summer from 5 pm till 10:30pm. Lots of good food, music and best of all market stalls! So you can sit back relax and listen to tunes and eat your heart out, or have a browse around the market stalls. It gets pretty crowded so I recommend getting there as early as possible, but definitely  worth a look.

Did you watch the Muppet Show?

January 10th, 2011

I loved the Muppet Show when I was little, I loved all things Muppet’s actually. We had a few episodes on VCR that we had taped from the TV and my sister and I would watch them over and over, these day’s I’m amazed at some of the performers that they managed to get on the show. That VCR we used to watch died years ago but thank goodness for YouTube, I can relive one of my all time favorite Muppet Show Performances. Mr Harry Belafonte with “Day-O (Banana Boat Song)”.

Enjoy!

Who likes live music? I like live music.

August 4th, 2010

I’m a bit lucky this week, its been live music week. Last night I went to see Florence and the Machines and tonight I’m off to see Kate Nash (Strangely both redheads). I love love love seeing live music, and more times that I would like to admit I actually get a tear in my eye, due to the overwhelming feeling of inspiration. Florence last night struck me as being uniquely herself, heartfelt and genuine, her songs drew me in much more so than when I listen to them on CD. To be able to stand on stage in front of hundreds of people (most of which you don’t know) and be yourself I think is absolutely amazing, and to be singing about things that are really close to your heart and sharing them with others, well, that’s the stuff dreams are made of! To make Florence even better, her stage decorations involved vintage birdcages with lights in them, and a backdrop that looked like amazing vintage wallpaper, sooooo pretty. All in all Florence was amazing, if you get a chance definitely go and see her, and now its time for me to get warmed up for Kate Nash, I’ll let you know how it goes…
